3. Automotive mechanic I chose to be an Automotive Mechanic Because my brother is a mechanic.

4. What my job is like You must know your cars well. You must know a lot about how complex parts of the cars and trucks work together.You must be able to work with electronic equip meant that tells them what is wrong. They must be able to read and understands manuals and machines that are computer-based.

5. Training/skills Formal training must last 6 months, it also includes other classes like math, english and computers. Nearly half of all automotive service technicians work more than 40 hours a week. Many who put in long hours, work for themselves. Some service shops are open in the evenings and on weekends.

6. Salary You would get $30 an hour or $27, depending who you work for. I would get $60000 a year. That's a lot of money.

7. The Future I think this job will be good for me Because it runs in the family, my dad was a mechanic and my brother is one. Job opportunities are expected to be very good for people who complete a training program and receive a certification.
