2 1.Existing presentations can be opened and modified 2.You can open an existing presentation by choosing Open under the File Tab, by double clicking on the presentation file storage device where it is saved, or by using CTRL+0 inside of the PowerPoint program window. 3.The presentation name will appear on the Title Bar when it is opened.

3 4. Headers and footers allow the user to include vital information on the printed presentation in the margin. 5. You insert a Header and Footer using the Header and Footer dialog box using the Header and Footer command on the Insert Ribbon. 6. The placement of items in the header and footer will be controlled by the Slide Master. 7. You can enter header and footer information in Normal View. 8. You can enter header and footer information into notes and handouts using the Notes and Handouts tab in the Header and Footer dialog box. 9. On the Insert Header/Footer dialog box you have the following options: Date and Time, Slide number, Footer and Don’t show the title slide.

4 10. Previewing a presentation allows the user to proofread the presentation prior to presenting or printing. 11. To open the Print Preview window using the Print Command under the File Tab. 12. Previewing will also allow the user to preview the notes pages, handouts and speakers notes. 13. Clicking the pointer will toggle the zoom to magnify or shrink the presentation size. 14. The print preview window options command will allow the user to view the presentation in color or in black and white, depending upon the installed printers. 15. You can scroll through the various pages of the presentation by clicking the Next Page button or the Previous Page button on the Print Preview ribbon. 16. To close the Print Preview window by clicking the Close button located at the top of the window.

5 17. There are various page size options in PowerPoint. 18. You can switch between portrait and landscape 19. To change the page setup you use the Page Setup Group on the Design Ribbon. Choosing a Printer: 20.Printers are set up in Control Panel. 21.Clicking the Print command under the File Tab will print the presentation on the default printer and as slides, unless changed. 22.You can select alternative printers using the Print command under the File Tab.

6 23. Presentations can be printed as slides, speaker notes, handouts, or an outline. 24. Quick Print Method will only print slides. 25. Handouts are good to use to help the audience take notes as the presentation is viewed. 26. Handouts created from a presentation can be printed in a variety of slides per page using the Print command under the File Tab. 27. You can print multiple copies of a presentation using the Print dialog box. 28. You can choose the number of slides to print per page, there are six different options to choose from.

7 29. You can use the Print Range area of the print dialog box to select the slide numbers or slide range to print. 30. You can use Grayscale to print the presentation and conserve ink. 31. The Print dialog box contains a Preview button so that the user can preview the presentation prior to printing. 32. The print options Scale to Fit Paper, Frame Slides, Print Comments and Ink Markup and Print Hidden Slide is found at the bottom of the print dialog box. 33. You can scale to fit paper using the Print command under the File Tab. 34. You can print hidden slides using the Print command under the File Tab.
