The Question If I filled an ordinary plastic bottle with vinegar and baking soda and shook it and tossed it. What would happen? I picked this question not only cause I'm curious but because I thought I would have a lot of fun doing to! And since you see these volcanoes of vinegar and baking soda. It would be interesting to see what would happen if it was in a bottle!

Hypothesis So my hypothesis for this question is. If I put baking soda into a water bottle along with vinegar, the reaction will pressurize the bottle, and when it is tossed in the air and hits the ground it will explode.

Interesting facts Both of these ingredients are used in science projects as well, such as exploding volcanoes. Used in propelling model rockets. Describing a chemical reaction. Baking soda is called sodium bicarbonate And is used in making a bubble bomb.

Materials Plastic bottle Vinegar Baking soda Plastic bag

Instructions First I would have to fill the bottle just about half way with vinegar then put the baking soda in a bag drop the bag in the bottle Then shake the bottle up toss it into the air

Controls 2 cups of vinagar 4 teaspoons of baking soda

observations As I shook the bottle I could immediately feel the pressure When I threw it into the air it was very pressurized It did not explode on the first toss, so when I went to pick it up it was about two times as bigger compared to how it first was When it exploded it was very loud and you could see the contents fly everywhere.

Data The two ingredients make a very violent reaction if used in a explosion. When conjoined, make a very big difference they when they were separate.

Analysis When combining baking soda, and vinagar you get a very unstable rection Both of them expand very fast when they come in contact with each other.

Conclusion Concluding my experiment it appears my hypothesis was correct as too the explosion of the two ingredients. It seems that the two when combined reacted by expanding very vast, causing the bottle to be highly pressurized. So when it came in contact to the ground it exploded. 
