ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Browser Icons Keyboard ‘Down Arrow’ = Go forward Keyboard ‘Up Arrow’ = Go back Keyboard ‘ESC’ = Exit this Help Demo SUMMARY: The Find Function is effectively a Filter where the User closely Defines the Data match required. An Input Form is used to define the Range of the Search and What to do with the Result. BEST SUITED: Unlike other Filters, which only search through their own Column’s Data, Find can search all Fields in all Records during one action. In this way, it provides a mechanism for Searching the Entire Database. Find works by Tagging Records which match the Criteria specified. It can then go on to Tag Records which match a another, different Criteria. In so doing, Find allows the User to build up a Compilation of Tagged Records for further action. (Analysis, Mail Merge, etc.) DISADVANTAGES: It is not possible to Retain the Search Criteria for re-application, or the Results for recall – as such it is a tool for immediate requirements rather than a tool for setting up On Screen Reviews or Reports. ‘FIND’

Perform Sub-String Search configures the Search to look for the specified Criteria anywhere within the Data, not just look for Data that matches the Criteria exactly.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Browser Icons ‘FIND’ ICON Include Character Fields In Numeric Searches is a feature available (if unticked) which will speed up the Search by only looking at Numeric Fields when searching for a Number. It is normally only necessary to speed up the search in this way on large Databases, where tens of thousands of Records are being searched. Keyboard ‘Down Arrow’ = Go forward Keyboard ‘Up Arrow’ = Go back Keyboard ‘ESC’ = Exit this Help Demo Search Only Displayed Fields limits the extent of the Search. Any Data which is held in Columns that are not displayed somewhere within the Browser’s view will be disregarded during the Search.
