2 SEASONS AND WEATHER There are four seasons in a year: autumn, winter, spring and summer. Each of them lasts three months. Autumn months are September, October and November Spring months are March, April and May Winter months are December, January and February Summer months are June, July and August

3 AUTUMN Autumn comes in September with the beginning of the school year. It is a very beautiful time of the year when the weather is still warm and the leaves change their colour from green to golden, brown and red. A spell of warm sunny weather in September is called Indian summer. The nature is full of bright colours and the ground is covered with fallen leaves.

4 Autumn It is the time when fruit and vegetables become ripe.
The farmers are busy harvesting.

5 Autumn The weather is often stormy. Sometimes it is also foggy.
But soon it gets colder and rainier. The weather is often stormy. Sometimes it is also foggy. Birds fly to warm countries.

6 Winter The trees with hoar-frost are wonderful.
Winter is the coldest season in our hemisphere with frosts and snow. But it is also a beautiful season when nature is sleeping under a clean soft blanket of white snow. The trees with hoar-frost are wonderful. Rivers and lakes are frozen.

7 Winter Lovers of winter sports go skiing, skating and hockey playing.
Children enjoy making snowmen, tobogganing and playing snowballs.

8 Winter In winter we have the most favourite holidays such as New Year and Christmas. The streets of our towns and cities are festive decorated and everybody enjoys their wonderful view.

9 Spring Spring begins in March.
The days get longer. The nature awakens from its long winter sleep. The sun shines more brightly. The snow melts.

10 Spring The meadows grow green again, flowers begin to bloom.
The trees open their buds and shoot out new leaves. The orchards are in blossom. Migrant birds come back from the south. They build their nests, lay and hatch their eggs and sing their merry songs.

11 Summer In June we have the longest days and the shortest nights.
Summer is the warmest season. In June we have the longest days and the shortest nights. The weather is usually fine, the sky is blue and cloudless. The hot sun ripens the corn, vegetables, fruit and berries.

12 Summer we can bathe in rivers and lakes, or go to the
