2 The OAS CSR Program has contributed to deepen the dialogue on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Member States. CSR in the Americas is no longer principally about philanthropy but rather about voluntary activities undertaken by economic agents to operate in an economic, social and environmentally sustainable manner. OAS CSR Program’s principal areas of work: 1.Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) 2.Parliamentarians and multi-stakeholder dialogues 3.Americas CSR Network Introduction

3 The work of the CSR Program is aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. The Program most directly contributes to achieving sustainable development goal 12: responsible production and consumption by: 1.Encouraging companies to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle (target 12.6) 2.Encouraging companies to reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse (target 12.5) Sustainable Development Goals

4 Objective: Provide SMEs with the tools to develop innovative CSR solutions and implement responsible practices into their business strategies to improve their economic, social and environmental performance. 16 16 case stories documented 1 1 training module on “CSR, SMEs, and Gender Equality” Training Activities: Training Activities: Mendoza, Argentina; Manizales, Colombia; Panama City, Panama; Montevideo, Uruguay; Guadalajara, Mexico; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; San José, Costa Rica; Mexico City, Mexico; Quito, Ecuador; Tegucigalpa, Honduras CSR Implementation in SMEs

5 Objective: Build capacity in the region by training SME support institutions and local CSR organizations on the OAS CSR SME Implementation methodology. The train-the-trainer methodology serves to advance the OAS’ goals of strengthening human and institutional capacity as well as encouraging mechanisms to exchange information and experiences among Member States. 6 Objective: Fostering dialogue on CSR among legislators and other stakeholders, including: the private sector, civil society and academia. 3 3 agreements signed : 1 in Panama, 2 in the region of the Forum of Presiding Officers of National Parliaments of Central America and the Caribbean Basin (FOPREL)  promote an ongoing dialogue on CSR between the Parliament and other stakeholders, including the private sector National Dialogues: National Dialogues: Panama City, Panama; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Guadalajara, Mexico; San Salvador, El Salvador; Managua, Nicaragua Regional Dialogues: Regional Dialogues: FOPREL, Andean Parliament CSR among Parliamentarians and Multi- Stakeholder Dialogue

7 Platform designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, provide learning tools as well as establish partnerships with local CSR organizations, academia and other key stakeholders Americas CSR Network

8 The OAS CSR Program partners with ministries, agencies, local CSR organizations, the private sector, business associations, academia and other multilateral organizations to foster the dialogue among all stakeholders on CSR and to ensure the CSR Program’s sustainability. Partnerships
