When estrogen is low – pituitary releases FSH/LH
When estrogen is high – inhibit release of FSH/LH
HCG – (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)
present if the embryo implants in the endometrium
Maintains corpus luteum and continues to secrete progesterone and estrogen to keep endometrium intact
