Now we have: COSMO-Model Version 4.0 –Fully implemented all developments for high resolution (LMK-Project, work at other centers) –Fully implemented all changes for running the model in climate mode (long simulations, updating external parameters, NetCDF,…)

6. 18.-21.09.2007 9th General COSMO Meeting --- Athens, Greece 6 Source Code Administration INT2LM 1.5 (05.07.07; Development Version) –Implementation of the changes for high-resolution runs (LMK- Project) –Started implementation of changes from the climate community (NetCDF, special interpolation procedures) –Implemented possibility for interpolating additional variables (e.g. chemistry variables) INT2LM 1.6 (07.09.07; Development Version) –(First) full implementation of all changes from the climate community Still missing: –Computation of external parameters for topographical corrections in the radiation scheme –Distribution and testing

7. 18.-21.09.2007 9th General COSMO Meeting --- Athens, Greece 7 Web Page Administration The Contents Manager: –Rodica Dumitrache and Cosmin Barbu work together on the Contents Management of the Web Page. –But still, not much updated pages can be seen on the Web (just some minutes) –New pages are developed to present all necessary information for the Priority Projects on the Web Material is gathered from the Project Managers It is edited and formatted in Romania More FTEs will be allocated to Romania therefore (0.3) –Work is delayed, because of several reasons: People are not delivering material People who wanted to write updates, did not have time The Contents Manager are not aggressive enough gathering material

8. 18.-21.09.2007 9th General COSMO Meeting --- Athens, Greece 8 Web Page Administration Technical Administration: –The mirror at CSCS in Manno: (http://cosmo-model.cscs.ch) is working again. –HNMS will upgrade its connection to the web Overall Situation is not satisfying: –How can we speed up the update-process? –Does a Contents Management System help? –If we invest more FTEs, but do not get a better result, we have to apply dramatic measures.

9. 18.-21.09.2007 9th General COSMO Meeting --- Athens, Greece 9 Documentation No work has been done for updating the documentation It is the same story as for the Web: –Writing documentation seems to be a lower priority job –We all are overloaded with other work

10. 18.-21.09.2007 9th General COSMO Meeting --- Athens, Greece 10 COSMO Newsletter No COSMO Newsletter could be published since the last GM Reason: see also last slides The gathered material will not be lost. Even if a printed version will not be available, the single contributions will be put to the Web. The contributions will be „citeable“ Nevertheless: Same procedure as every year: you can submit contributions to the next-next Newsletter
