1 of 10 DetaiLogic ™ Patent Pending Builder’s Introduction ■

2 of 10 What’s the Issue?  The things you build are designed by DPs (Design Pros: architects, engineers, etc.)  They don’t always provide complete designs. Sometimes a needed detail or spec is missing.  Of the ones included, you sometimes see a better solution that achieves the same ends.  Under the current system, you request the missing information or propose a substitution. It causes delays. More info must be generated, equivalencies established, etc. ■

3 of 10 Current Solutions  With missing information, solutions are limited. Liability concerns may prevent you from detailing a particular connection.  If you submit a Request for Information, DPs must make sure the information provided is consistent with the rest of the project. But DPs may ask you for a recommendation. And months after designing the project, DPs might have forgotten the performance criteria relevant to the needed detail. ■

4 of 10 Current Solutions  With substitutions you propose, comparing apples and oranges is hard work. You must do your own research You have to use data organized in different ways by different manufacturers to find the relevant points There’s no software that can help you do it Finally, the DP must check your proposal’s compati- bility with other details—with more time lost.  You hope that the potential savings aren’t spent by the time the substitution is checked and approved. ■

5 of 10 Current Solutions Is there a better way? Yes It’s called DetaiLogic™ ■

6 of 10 The Alternative: DetaiLogic™ DetaiLogic™ is…  An advisor that suggests materials and assemblies to its users  An instructor that helps users decide and introduces them to new materials  A tester that quickly assesses the implications when project requirements change.  A draftsman that compiles custom details from their constituent subassemblies, and outputs detail drawings and specification sections. ■

7 of 10 The Alternative: DetaiLogic™ How does it work?  It asks users what they want from their details. They can input a list of performance criteria, select specific materials, or do a combination of the two.  It searches a library for data on subassemblies and materials that correspond to or fulfill the inputted list.  It compiles the subassemblies into connections, and the connections into details.  It outputs drawings, specifications, and a performance assessment of the compiled detail.  It lets users link to manufacturers for other support (to order samples, get questions answered, etc.). ■

8 of 10 The Alternative: DetaiLogic™ Who can use it? Anyone. But any details or specifications DetaiLogic™ generates must be sealed by a licensed DP before being executed (except for exempt [small] projects). ■

9 of 10 The Alternative: DetaiLogic™ Why should you support and use it?  DetaiLogic™ proposes products for a project based on the degree to which they fit its needs. That kind of assistance is invaluable.  It does so at precisely the right time and place: when decisions are being made, and for the people making the decisions.  DetaiLogic™ uses only objective data prepared directly by manufacturers and trade associations.  DetaiLogic™ provides a direct link for contractor users to order products. ■

10 of 10 Can you try it out? Yes! The ArchiBas X website includes:  A walk-through that explains what DetaiLogic™ is and how it works.  A software mock up that, while not yet functional, does suggest the flow of DetaiLogic™, if not its final look or feel. ■ The Alternative: DetaiLogic™
