16 Where we are Pilots in play – evaluation due early New Year £11m of pooled health and care budgets in Better Care Fund We know that no areas have the infrastructure or relationships required yet – development The first step will be taken in January: 3 – 4 Community Wellbeing Partnerships to start their journey with local people and with us. Phase 1, not a pilot Phased investment based on progress and trust

17 Challenges Role of elected members - democracy Playing to local strengths and preferences (e.g. led by GPs, VCF, Council?) Commercial – allowing for growth from £100k to £?m Partnerships not ‘lead body plus sub-contractors’ Commissioners accepting a new role – investing to make good things happen, not buying stuff!
