1 Career Connections Holland Code What is your personality type and how does it match your career choice?

2 Shaniya Morin:Early Childhood Care Social- I am able to be social with others to talk with children or parent/guardian Artistic- I need to be artistic to plan lessons and activities. Realistic- I would rather play and do activities than have to read about the activity. Tasks: ●Maintain a safe environment ●Observe and monitor children's activity ●Communicate with parents or guardians ●Keep Records ●Support, encourage and understand the children. Skills: ●Speaking ●Critical Thinking ●Listen ●Decision Making ●Time Management Average Salary: $27,130 without college education. Average Salary: $41,000 with college education. Education and Training: You need at least high school diploma to be eligible for this job. Job Description: During this career you will be a big part of children's learning. This is the first time they'll be learning in an actual school. In this career you will be teaching young children basic skills. Such as hygiene, social and basic learning skills, as well as introducing colors, shapes, numbers, reading and writing. Why is this career good for me? This career is good for me because I love children, specifically the younger age range. I tend to do well with young children and children seem to like me,as well! Two careers that fit this Holland Code: ●Customer Care Services ●Craft Artists

3 Education/Training : Bachelor’s degree Tasks: ●Assess patients’ pain levels ●Monitor patients for changes in status. ●Setup and monitor medical equipment such as cardiac monitors. ●Administer medications by injection, orally, through gastric tubes or by other methods. ●Evaluate patients’ vital signs or laboratory data to determine emergency intervention needs. ●Document patients’ medical histories. ●Provide emotional support for the patients’ or families’. ●Conduct lung/breathing assessments to identify abnormal respiratory patterns or breathing sounds that indicate problems. ●Administer blood and blood products, monitoring patients for sign and symptoms related to transfusion reactions. Career Description: When a patient has suffered a heart attack, stroke, or any other severe medical issue, it is important they receive intensive medical care. Critical care nurses are skilled at providing such care in settings where patients can be given complex assessments and treatment. It is related to the Holland Code I received from taking the personality test (SIR). This career is also very interesting in my opinion. 4 Model Makers, Metal and Plastic A model maker operates machines, such as lathes, milling and engraving machines, and jig borers to make working models of metal or plastic objects. Tasks: ●Studying blueprints and outlines to create necessary scales and dimensions ●Operate machinery such as lathes, drill presses, punch presses, and band saws ●Cut, shape, and form different materials ●Record specifications ●Align, fit, and join parts, by using bolts and screws, or by welding and gluing Katherine Smith Why? This career would be perfect for me because I enjoy building things, and problem solving. I also enjoy using machinery to create structures. Education Recommendes training in vocational schools, related on-the- job experience, or an associates degree Skills: ●Operation and Control ●Operation monitoring ●Critical Thinking ●Active listening ●Speaking ●Time Management Salary Average= $22.15 Annually= $46,080 Other Options: Two other jobs I thought looked interesting we're tool and die makers and robotic engineer technician
