2. Animal Cell  Enclosed by a plasma membrane  Contains a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles.  Unlike the cells of plants and fungi, animal cells do not have a cell wall.

4. Plant Cell  Cell which is the main structure and function of the plant.  Contains a cell wall which serves as a protective layer.  Organized the same as animal cells, except for cell wall.

6. Bacteria  A very large group of microorganisms.  Contains prokaryotic cell structure, lacking a nucleus.  Can live in all environments such as soil, water, in the air, and in bodies of organisms.

8. Fungus  A diverse group of eukaryotic single cells or multi-organisms.  Live by decomposing and absorbing organic material in which they grow.  Common as mushrooms, mildews and molds.

10. Virus  A micro-organism which is smaller than bacteria.  Cannot grow or reproduce apart from a living cell.  Invades living cells.
