3. 1.) 3 Lines in art are: vertical, horizontal and diagonal. 2.) 3 Characteristics of color are: contrast, harmony, temperature. 3.) Texture is the surface characteristic experienced from touch or the illusion of touch. 4.) Shapes are formed when a line encloses an area. They can vary endlessly. 5.) Space is an empty area or surface in or around a work of art.

4. I like the way the warmth of the deep orange of the glass contrasts with the white wool. The light in the room makes the glass glow and makes it show depth. COLORCOLOR

5. This photograph has a lot of lines! They are vertical and horizontal. I chose the cigar boxes because they clearly have lines. After I took the photo I realized how many more lines there were in the space…. The couch and its cushions, the pillow, the mirror in the background, the moulding around the niche, and even where the wall meets the ceiling. All of the lines feel, structured, clean and neat! LINELINE

6. The predominant texture in this photo is the rug, but the carved wooden tray also “jumped out” at me. The twisted wool strands show detail which makes the texture more evident. It makes me want to walk barefoot on it! TEXTURETEXTURE
