4. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Andes Exclusive Ltda. produces Alpaca yarns and garments through its factory located in La Paz, Bolivia. Andes Exclusive Ltda. controls directly all the Alpaca production chain from the natural fiber, through the association with the Alpaca breeders, to the hand crafting of the final products. Andes Exclusive Ltda. support s indigenous associations of llama and alpaca breeders of the Bolivian highlands. Their main objective being the encouragement of sustainable development in the camelid farming through the transformation and commercialization of these fibers into yarns and garments. Andes Exclusive Ltda. is associated with more than 600 local women in the city of El Alto – Bolivia. These knitting groups provide the constant economic support for their families to continue their traditional rural lifestyle.

5. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Raw Material Selection The alpaca and llama breeders (who are based in different zones of the Bolivian Highlands) bring their varying classes of fiber to our warehouse in El Alto.

6. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Fiber sorting The alpaca and llama fleeces are first graded and ten sorted for fineness and color. This operation is carried out by ladies whose skills of selection have been handed down from generation to generation. Texture Quality: Baby, Superfine, Adult, Coarse Microns: (21 - 22) (24 - 25.5) (27 - 28.5) (30 - 33.0) Color Selection: White, Cream, Black, Brown, Grey and derivative colors: a total of 16 natural colors.

7. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Scouring The wool (fiber) scouring operation has the objective of removing the natural grease and any extraneous dust that the fleeces collect. The wool scouring is carried out on a large industrial machine containing 5 separate washing bowls using clean warn water and bio- degradable. Detergent leaving the fiber clean and containing no more then 0.5% of it’s natural.

8. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Yearn Processing The final product of the carding and combing operation universally know as ball tops are passed through a further series of gilling passages designed to reduce the weight of the sliver and present it in a desirable state for the yarn spinning process. This is done on the spinning frames where the sliver is reduced to its required thickness and twisted to give the yarn strength and durability. Andes Exclusive Ltda. produces a range of yarns from 6 to 30 NM and these yarns are flayed to give the yarn further strength and durability consistent with the requirements of the client.

9. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Dyeing process Though alpaca and llama fiber comes in a rich palette of natural shades, in order to satisfy the international fashion markets we have to dye a wide range of colors. The yarns dyeing is carried out in a pressurized vessel using Eco-friendly dyestuffs which are approved for garment manufacture.

10. Andes Exclusive Ltda. Design Andes Exclusive Ltda. has an international group of fashion designer and production specialists who can work on demand to tailor and produce a special garment based on client's request. A minimum order is required.
