(Do not mention the Economic scenario/Growth opportunity/Proposed solution etc here) Design intervention – May cover the features and activities directly benefiting the product and customers, New features, technology, reduced cost to customers, ease of use, product serviceability, maintenance, quality improvement, attractive packaging, Aesthetics, ergonomics, etc Highlight the new approach adopted in the project which is unique or different from existing in-house /competition. Address the issues faced in previous section. Manufacturing competitiveness - This section highlights the benefits of design project to the MSME unit. Productivity improvement, simplification of manufacturing, commonisation of parts and processes. Ease of storage, inventory reduction, cost reduction in production, packaging, logistics, etc. Gaining access to new markets, increase in existing market Export possibility etc. Target markets, Potential for export or substitute for import should be clearly defined. MSME Unit : Falls under : Small Products : Turnover : in India Rs/- Product description :(Describe the proposed product in terms of its type, function, users, market etc ) Eg. Collimation device is used in X-ray machine to align the rays according to the exposed object. The device manufactured by various unit in India and supplied to OEMs) Design Firm: Professional Experience : Area of expertise : Issues faced in Existing Product – Issues like lack of functional advantages, outdated features, lack of margin and higher cost of production. issues in manufacturing, marketing due to design of product, excessive competition from domestic/ international products, Process related issues etc.. In case of new design – state the reasons behind taking up new approach, issues or opportunities addressed through new product … etc. Competitors details:

3 2 PDP-15- ….. Deliverables : New Concepts: Mock ups/ Scaled down model : Working prototype : Final Drawings/3D models : Target Users and Market – Design Intervention in the product/improvements /additional features: Features considered as design intervention like aesthetics, User convenience and safety, ergonomics, value addition in terms of functions, performance, cost benefits etc. Ease of operation, maintenance, services etc. Direct Benefits to Manufacturers: Features benefiting manufacturer like commonization of parts, reduction of part, volume of product, reduction in material, etc. Production related benefits like reduced processes, assembly time, labour, packaging, logistics etc. Reduction of product cost and increase in profit margin etc. Total Project Cost : Rs /- Design fee : Rs /- T&D cost : Rs /- Prototype : Rs /- Total Project Duration : weeks Invest Planned for Tooling and Production Existing productProposed product --Production Expected Production & comparative Price --Market price/unit
