12 Making assessment judgements Assessment for candidates (Appendix 1): commentary on assessment judgements Candidates must be able to complete a workbook with a minimum of three worksheets using:  two functions. These could include: — conditional formatting — filters on two columns; can include custom auto filter — subtotals — sort: horizontal — dynamic linkage (WP) — adding comments and printing with comments  two formulae. These could include: — countif — lookup — combined arithmetical (for example percentage change) — 3D formulae — complex if Task 1 requires candidates to: Costs worksheet  Conditionally format total cost column to show that if the total cost is more than £5,000 the figure is shown in bold red text and if it is less than or equal to £5,000 the figure is shown in bold green text.  Comment inserted at an appropriate place stating that approval is needed for orders over £10,000.  Worksheet printed showing values with gridlines and the comment. Summary worksheet  Discount Rate column completed using a vlookup or IF to insert the discount rate offered by the Supplier from the DISCOUNTS worksheet.  Final Cost column completed by inserting a combined formula to show the final costs after the discount has been applied.  Worksheet printed showing formulae with row and column headings and gridlines.

16 Course Assessment at Higher Course Assessment at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher assesses Added Value Courses at Higher are normally assessed by one or two Components Courses at Higher are graded A – D, as at present Controlled Assessment of setting, conducting and marking For Administration and IT there are 2 Components – Question Paper and Assignment

17 Higher – Assignment Set and marked by SQA. 70 marks. 2 hours to complete. Assignment will be in the context of an event covering: Preparation and follow-up tasks Problem solving Spreadsheet Database Word processing Communication

18 Higher – Question Paper Set and marked by SQA. 30 marks. 1 hour to complete. Case study with questions that will require candidates to apply their knowledge and understanding to. Mixture of short and extended response questions Topics sampled from Administrative Theory and Practice and Communication in Administration.
