6 Profiling in S3 S3 marks the end of your broad general education phase and is a time when you will be choosing subjects that will lead you onto learning paths for the senior phase. A profile is a snapshot of a your best achievements at a given point in during your time in S3. Profiles are primarily aimed at learners and their parents, and draw together a range of information about your learning. In the development of your profile, teachers will built on the existing approaches to assessment within their classes and suggest pieces of work that you have done that could be added to your profile. Some pieces for you profiles may be kept in classroom folders initially but you will aim to store all your achievements and ‘best bits’ electronically throughout the year

8 Dates and Deadlines During January you will learn about course choice options with your guidance teacher and you will be given advice on completing the course selection form. S2 Parent Contact Evening is on the Monday 11 th January and your parents will have the opportunity to discuss your courses with your teachers. 18 th January Course selection forms should be returned (signed by your parents) to you guidance teacher no later than 18 th January If you miss the deadline we may not be able to honour the selection's you have made. It is imperative that you hand your course selection form in on time. If you wish to change your form after it has been handed in please see your guidance teacher. Deadline – 18th January
