2 Links that are found on your website and link to other pages on your site. Why do it? Builds Reputation Helps users find related content that they are interested in By improving users’ experience you gain reputation as expert resource They will rely on you as a resource again in the future Improves Rankings Allows you to redirect some of the “link juice” from one page to another“link juice” Provides Easy Site Navigation We’ve all visited sites where you get lost and have no idea how to get back to the home page – no one wants that, and Google hates it! “In-context” link building allows you to easily navigate within the pages of a website without having to repeatedly use the back button or the site map at the top/side of the page“In-context” Back to Home

3 Tips: In-Context Linking: Search engines like Google give more weight to in-context links than link lists (a links page or in the sidebar). You want to make it so that all related posts/pages are interlinked amongst each other through in-context links. If you look at Wikipedia most of their words are interlinked with another article of Wikipedia. This is one example of internal (In-Context) linking practices.Wikipedia Note that Inter-Linking on a site with hundreds of pages will have a bigger effect than just a handful of pages. Anchor Text: Make sure that your anchor text/keyword is relevant to the page that it is being linked to; without using the right keywords they will not deliver the required benefits. Links without related keywords are like shooting arrows blind – you are sending “link juice” to those pages, but you’re not telling the search engines what topic those pages are relevant to. 4 Why do it? To Generate Site Traffic Without links no traffic would reach your site Traffic comes to site in 1 of 2 ways: Directly: by people that click a link on another site that links to one of your pages Organically: By increasing that page’s importance to search engines – bringing you visitors who find you in a search External link building improves both of these methods

5 Tips: Linking Agreements: You agree to link to a site if that site puts a link back to you. Reciprocal links can carry the benefit of direct traffic, but they have relatively little impact upon your search engine rankings. Buy Links: A paid link, properly placed, can bring you highly targeted traffic, but it will not necessarily make any contribution to your search engine rankings. Search engines make an effort to discover paid links and avoid counting them within their algorithm. Submit to Article Directories: If you submit a very valuable article to a high traffic article directory, other sites will pick up that article (including your embedded link and publish it on their sites). Social Media: Social media networks are an amazing place to start a link building campaign for your website. Placing your target keyword as a link in these places will inform search engines of your product (target keyword) and be drawn to your site.

6 Link Juice: Every webpage has “link juice” which it can distribute to other links found on it's page. This is one of the reasons why you shouldn't have too many links on one page; Let's say a page has link juice of 50, with 10 links on that page, the link juice passed on to the other pages = 50/10 = 5 link juice count. The more links you have on a page, the less link juice is passed on to those pages. When your link juice flows through to different pages on your website it helps your Search Engine Rank Position. It also makes it easier for crawlers to crawl your website and index your inner pages better and faster.
