11 Kenojuak Ashevak Born October 3, 1927 in Northern Canada in the southern coast of Baffin Island Many of Ashevak's drawings, prints and sculptures are familiar to Canadians, because they've been on government stamps or prints. Among her most famous works are The Owl and The World Around Me.

12 Kenojuak Ashevak Kenojuak’s personal style for birds is evident. The artist constantly changes her work, giving free rein to her imagination in her exploration of line, form, and colour. Kenojuak has also drawn other subjects: camp scenes, sea goddesses, metamorphosis. Although she has represented divinities and characters from legends, she is more interested by the artistic design rather than the story itself.
