Approved by the Early Childhood Leadership Commission in May, 2013.

13 Components of the Early Childhood Professional Credential (credential levels 1=lowest through 6=highest –level is based on total points earned) Formal EducationProfessional Development (Points awarded for Training Hours/CEUs completed in the last 3 years; extra points awarded courses related to children with high needs, completed as a series, and completed with at least 8 hours of coaching. Points also awarded for specific Licenses, Endorsements, and Certifications that are kept current) Experience (Points awarded for each year worked in the field ) Demonstrated Competencies (Point system to be developed) Degrees (Points awarded for highest degree attained) Areas of Study (Extra points awarded for 6 specific areas of study in degrees earned in the last 25 years) Course-work (Points awarded for each 3 credit college course with grade “C” or above in ECE or courses aligned with competencies) Points
