2 The book itself ► written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. ► Before the book was published a series of essays were published in the magazine “National era”. ► 300,000 copies sold in first year. ► Was first published on March 20th, 1862 ► The Story is about the lives of several slaves on a Kentucky plantation.

4 About The Author Stowe was born in 1811 to the Rev. Lyman Beecher and Roxanna Foote Beecher.
