2. Actions required n ComSoc cosponsorship? ComSoc agrees advance funding and shares the surplus in similar proportions with Local IEEE entity; Chapter or Section n Prepare budget n Identify sponsors u aids cash flow u may provide additional committee members

3. Further actions n Book Conference location 3 years in advance n Appoint Technical Programme Committee n Plan Call for Papers at an early stage n Advertise in Comms Mag and Conference diaries of major journals n Open separate bank account n Set up web site

4. Typical committee tasks n Chairmen: Executive and General n Officers: u TPC u Finance u Publicity, web site maintenance u Publications u Local Arrangements u Registration

5. Organization n Appoint meeting management company n Frequent liaison with hotel/conference venue n Liaison with ComSoc (finance & publicity) n Paper management system for refereeing papers

6. Progress and review n Regular committee meetings to review progress against milestones n Check all publicity output several times n Accurate accounts and audit
