2 introduction Africa is the third continent of the world by geographical area. Africa are interesting , because is very big and have many countries and different stile of life.

4 North Africa Reflects the influence of many invaders, both European and Arab, giving the region Islamic flavor and a common Arabic language.

5 SOUTH Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe

6 CENTRAL Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Congo (Democratic Republic of), Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Sao Tome & Principe.

8 WEST Benin, Burkina, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo West Africa is a very diverse region. It has desert landscapes and also the tropical rain forests of the more humid south.

9 history Dating from 4500 years ago, ancient Egypt is the oldest and most dynamic of all early kingdoms known to have flourished on the continent of Africa. Egypt’s early strength was the Nile River, the longest river in the whole world. It runs from two little rivers–the White Nile, which runs from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile in the Nubian Mountains.

10 TRADE KINGDOMS Trade routes developed across Africa in several places. Early African people lived in small family groups. Parents, children and grandparents formed clans with other families. Larger clans became tribes.

11 economy The economy of Africa consists of the trade, industry, and resources of the people of Africa. As of 2006, approximately 922 million people were living in 54 different countries. Africa is the world's poorest inhabited continent.

16 Christianity Main article: Christianity in Africa Although Christianity existed far before the rule of King Ezana the Great of the Kingdom of Axum, the religion took a strong foot hold when it was declared a state religion in 330 AD.

17 Abrahamic religions The majority of Africans are adherents of the Abrahamic religions: Islam and Christianity. Both religions are widespread throughout Africa. These religions are often adapted to African cultural contexts and indigenous belief systems. It was estimated in 2000 that Christians form 40.6% of Africa's population, and Muslims forming 45%

18 government The Republic of South Africa is a constitutional democracy with a three-tier system of government and an independent judiciary, operating in a nearly unique system that combines aspects of parliamentary and presidential systems.

21 CULTURE The music, art, literature, and cultural practices of Africa have provoked interest and respect throughout the world. The old belief that Africa is somehow childlike in its cultural development has been denounced as people become more familiar with the rich traditions of the continent.

22 The material and inherent value of African art steadily increases in the world market. The music and literature of these peoples have found their way into houses and classrooms around the globe. We are beginning to learn through the works of scholars, film makers, and writers that Africans can teach us much more than we can show them.
