5 Knowledge Sharing Program  Conducted via Skype or other interactive medium sessions aimed at knowledge sharing on specific topics outside of and in addition to Council  Topics aimed at all skill levels of LSS/A officers  Program to include topics such as;  Intro to running a competitions portfolio  Judging and problem writing  Women's participation/recognition in competitions  Health & Well-being Best Practice LSS/A  Internal Advocacy – “how to right a policy for your law school”

6 Risk Officer  Officer to be appointed reporting to VPF  Applications due 30 November  Action the items on the risk register  Formalise the risk register  Conduct the first annual risk review of the organisation.

8 Competitions  How to videos, more content on the website from the various member LSS/A’s  Problem Bank  Expanding the problems bank  Include videos, guides and other resources  Intervarsity Competitions Calendar  Calendar to be available in late February.  Communication Networking  National Skype forums to cover various competitions themes: competition organisation essentials, judging, problem writing and an end-of-term knowledge accumulation.  Review of ALSA Competition Rules  National Standardisation of Competitions Rules  Student Judge Accreditation Guide  Competitions Community  Will be responsible for reviewing: involvement of women in competitions and accessibility of competitions for remote-access students.

11 Advocacy  Graduate Oversupply: We will be consulting with relevant stakeholders and releasing a series of guides and position papers regarding this.  Declarations in Admission: We will be examining the state of the law in this area, and releasing a position paper on possible changes for greater access and inclusion  Access to Education for Indigenous Australians: We will conducting an analysis with subsequent position paper on this issue.  Tax-Exemption Status: We will be advocating for a blanket tax-exemption for Student organizations.  PLT Requirements: We will issuing both a guide and position paper about the current state of requirements across different jurisdictions.

12 Higher Education  Internal Advocacy: We will producing a guide for LSSs on how to best deal with advocacy issues and their own faculties.  FEE-HELP: We will be producing a position paper on the current state of FEE-HELP restrictions and its effect.

13 Health and Wellbeing  Services Guide: We will be compiling a comprehensive, national guide to Mental Health services.  Signs of Illness: We will be issue a guide in what to look out for in yourselves and others.  Best Practice: We will look into advocating for the implementation of ‘best practice’ principles across LSSs and Law Schools.

14 Careers  Admissions Process: We will be creating a guide on the admissions process to hand out to students  Work-Experience: We will be advocating for a fair system, as well as producing a guide on the rights of students in obtaining work experience.  International Careers: We will be creating a guide detailing International Opportunities.  Academic Journal: Will be completed again.  Existing Guides: We will be updating the Judge’s Associates guide and Public Interest Careers guide inline with new opportunities.

19 Direct Law Student Communications  Use of the State based meetings. Information will be sent to the representatives, who can disseminate the information at the meetings and make sure that the members are aware of what ALSA is achieving  Utilise emails, Facebook (especially the ALSA Knowledge Sharing page), flyers etc

20 External Communications  Communication with external organisations such as New South Wales Young Lawyers & New South Wales Law Society  Make contact with other Law Societies to publicise ALSA’s initiatives  Potential contact with the international legal community

Esra is the National Network Governance & Engagement Manager at Lion Dairy & Drinks and is also an Olympic archer.

31 Sponsorships  Benefits to LSS/A’s  Look into more innovate agreements i.e. Stripe payments  Sponsorship will focus on broadening its scope to non- law firms, encompassing consulting services, legal publishing companies and business which have a legal department and are expanding their graduate/clerkship programs.  The Commercial Sponsorship Prospectus is being re- written and re-designed, and will compliment ALSA's new approach.
