Ministry of Science and Technology Objectives of the MoRENet The primary objective of the Mozambique Research and Education Network is to integrate national research and tertiary institutions to one national broadband network and to offer high quality, economically sustainable services for participating institutions More specific objectives include:  To establish a national network for interconnecting key scientific research and education institutions at national, regional and international levels  To provide a low cost communication platform with adequate bandwidth and high service level  To provide low cost access to international research networks and knowledge resources  To integrate Mozambican academia and research institutions with the private sector  To support replication, dissemination and scale up of local innovations and research results  To provide data center services for the participating institutions  To build a sustainable model for sharing of infrastructures and computing resources  To introduce common platform for knowledge management and exchange
