1. Why did the cracked pot feel ashamed? 2. Why did the cracked pot become happy as they went up the hill? 3. How would the cracked pot feel at the end of the story? 4. What can we learn from the story?

A water carrier had two large pots. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its work, while the cracked pot was ashamed of itself, and apologized to the water carrier one day.

The water carrier felt sorry for the cracked pot. In sympathy, he said, "As we returned to the master's house, I want you to focus on the beautiful flowers along the path." Indeed, as they went up the hill, the cracked pot saw the sun shining on the beautiful wild flowers along the path. This made the pot happy. But at last the cracked pot still felt bad because it had leaked out half of its load.

The pot apologized to the carrier for its failure again. Then the carrier said to the pot," Did you notice that the flowers were only on your side of the path and not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted seeds on your side of the path. Every day, as we walked back from the stream, you watered them.

For two years I have been able to pick those beautiful flowers to decorate my master's house. Without you being the way you are, he would not have these beautiful flowers in his house.” Each of us has our own flaws. We are all cracked pots. But don't be ashamed of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you can also create something beautiful. Remember that in our weaknesses we find our strengths.
