5 Let's Break It Down: 1st Choice....BOOKS! i n-depth coverage on a particular topic information written by specialists who have done extensive research information that does not have to be very current (always check the copyright date) information logically and coherently arranged with an index and a table of contents to help me You can't go wrong with a good well-researched book on your topic. 2nd Choice...DATABASES! These typically pull from newspaper, magazines, reference and scholarly materials. i nformation on popular "hot" topics information on current events articles written by professional journalists who have done their research (scholarly journals are PEER reviewed...EXPERT! 3rd Choice...INTERNET! i nformation that is really hard to find anywhere else the very latest information on my topic, but I must always check the dates posted a great variety of information from people, businesses, organizations and even some reference books. YOU MUST EVALUATE THE SOURCE OF THE INFORMATION!

7 Step 3: Location and Access YOU must decide! Check for: WHO created the page/site? WHAT is their authority? WHEN was the information last updated? HOW does the site look? (look at URLs) WHY is the information on the web? Re member- NO Wikipedia, NO blogs, NO answer sites- these are not authoritative sites. · Pick the best resource · Evaluate!!!!!
