This is a simplistic example of a the recent Smart Grid project. Honeywell will use a smart grid investment grant from DOE to develop a critical peak pricing response program that will help commercial and industrial facilities in the Southern California Edison service territory automatically implement energy management strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The program will support nearly 700 customers as SCE and other California utilities move to critical peak pricing — a dynamic pricing structure where electricity rates fluctuate depending on energy consumption and production costs. Honeywell was one of only four non-utility companies to receive DOE funding.
This whole process will take 6 seconds The key is that we are automating the process which will allow Demand response to reach new levels of success. Automation brings Completeness, - Consistency, Persistence, Reliability, Scalability and DR to the masses.
