1. God calls II Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be the more zealous to confirm your call and election, for if you do this you will never fall;

3. What is a call? V. Shout to someone so as to summon them or attract their attention. Phrases- Call for, require. Invitation, summons, bid, call forth.

4. Consider in light of God’s word: Have we been called? 1. Who has called & who has he called? 2. What are we being called to or for? 3. When is this call made? 4. How are we called?

5. 1. Who has called & who has he called? Acts 2:39 “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” It is important to know who is calling. It is the first thing we want to know whenever a call of us is made.

6. Who is God? Exodus 5:2 And Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,

Who is God? 2 Thessalonians 1:8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:

8. Is God’s words to us important? Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. God’s promises and words are trustworthy and truthful. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

10. Who has God called? I Corinthians 1:22-24 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

11. I Corinthians 1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

12. God wants obedient people John 7:45-49…. “Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?” No special singular calling today. God wants people that believe and are obedient. I Corinthians 7:19-24 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.

Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; Acts 26:18 ‘to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

15. What are we being called to or for? 1. Ephesians 4:1-3 Walk worthy of the calling 2. Philippians 3:14 Upward call of God in Christ Jesus 3. II Timothy 1:9 Called us with a holy calling, not according to our works 4. Hebrews 3:1 partakers of the heavenly calling, 5. I Thessalonians 4:7- 8 God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. ….he who rejects this does not reject man but God,

16. 3. When is this call made? People will get the idea it can’t or hasn’t happened until…fill in the blank. You’ll never be perfect, and ready to follow God if you wait. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

17. When is this call made? Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, God’s call is out, now, today is the day of your salvation.

Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom you also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, I Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19. How are we called? Titus1:2-3 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, but has in due time manifested His word through preaching,…...

20. Keeping these things in mind... We should know what kind of people we ought to be if we are professing to be Christians. If you aren’t a Christian, we read, Acts Acts17:30-31 God will judge all, make sure you are His.
