2 History with the Colleges of the Wisconsin Technical College System VIA BOARD OF REGENTS: Transfer Information System GENERAL EDUCATION 1989 – 15 credits – COMSK, BS, SS 2000 – 15 credits COMSK, BS, SS + 2 math and/or natural science 2003 – Transfer of Occupational/Technical courses course- by-course basis 30 credits of GE from WTCS WTCS Liberal Arts Programs 2011 –Revision of Policy - Committee STATE STATUTE: 2014 – UCTA-Universal Credit Transfer Agreement

3 Notwithstanding s. 36.09 (3) (a), the Board of Regents and the technical college system board shall, and the governing boards of tribally controlled colleges in this state and the association, on behalf of private colleges, may, enter into and implement an agreement that identifies core general education courses totaling not fewer than 30 credits and establishes policies for ensuring that, beginning in the 2014-15 academic year, credits for completing the courses are transferable and would satisfy general education requirements at the receiving institution or college, between and within each institution, college campus, and technical college, and each tribally controlled college and private college that elects to participate in the agreement.36.09 (3) (a)
