Diving Equipment Diving is possible thanks to specialized modern equipment that adapts you to the aquatic environment. Diving equipment is available in a wide variety of colors and designs that make it not only functional, but comfortable and stylish as well.

Mask This is your window to the underwater world. It allows you to see clearly by creating an air space in front of your eyes. This air space must be equalized during descent to prevent mask squeeze. For this reason your nose must be enclosed in the mask so you can exhale into it and equalize.

Snorkel. It is a standard piece of diving equipment. When you’re skin diving, the snorkel permits you to view the underwater world continuously, without the interruption of having to lift your head for a breath. Scuba divers use snorkels while swimming or resting at the surface to conserve the air in their tanks.

Fins. your powerful leg muscles can use for swimming, you have more effective propulsion than your arms can provide, and your hands are free for other activities. Fins allows you to move through the water with far less effort and far greater efficiency. They provide a large surface area that with

The Buoyancy Control Device. (BCD). It is an expandable bladder that can be inflated or deflated to regulate your buoyancy. The modern BCD can be orally inflated or mechanically inflated with the air from your tank to increase buoyancy. The BCD is a mandatory piece of equipment for all diving. It is used to provide positive buoyancy for resting swimming or lending assistant to others.

Scuba Tanks. It is a cylindrical metal container used to safely store high-pressure air for breathing. They came in a variety of air capacities, depending upon their pressure rating size. The tank capacity is expressed in the number of cubic feet of surface- volume air it can contain.

Tank Valves. The tank valve turns the airflow from the tank on and off. There are two basic types of tank valves: I. T he K-valve, which is a simple on/off valve II. T he J-valve, which has a built-in mechanism intended to signal you when tank pressure is low. All tank valve openings are surrounded by a rubber O-ring whose purpose is to make a seal between the scuba tank and the scuba regulator when attached to the tank.
