2 The Importance of Bombing Germany  Crippled their ability to produce things they needed to fight a war. –Fighter Planes, Tanks, Trucks, Rifles, etc. –Ball Bearings Factories were a common target.  Kept a certain amount of German forces busy protecting their production facilities.  Effected the morale of German citizens.

7 Terms to Know  Carpet Bombing – a form of bombing where a large area is bombed to hit a target.  “Pickle Barrel” – slang for hitting the target and only the target your aiming for.  Bomber Escort – a fighter that flies with the bombers to fight off enemy fighters.  Flack – Anti aircraft fire from the ground that explodes at a predetermined altitude.
