3 What does the Bronze Award involve?  4 sections – All must be completed successfully to gain the award  Skill  Volunteering  Physical  Expedition Edofe – www.edofe.orgwww.edofe.org

4 Skill To complete this section students must take up or continue a skill for 3 (or 6 months). Ideas of possible skills can be found at www.dofe.org >Doing your D of E > Activities Examples: Playing a musical instrument, chess, cooking, IT, gardening, craft.

5 Volunteering To complete this section students must take up or continue a volunteering project for 3 (or 6 months). Ideas of possible volunteering projects can be found at www.dofe.org >Doing your D of E > Activities Examples: Youth work, sports leadership, campaigning, working in a charity shop.

6 Physical To complete this section students must take up or continue a physical activity for 3 (or 6 months). Ideas of possible physical activities can be found at www.dofe.org >Doing your D of E > Activities Examples: Dance, fitness, team sports, extreme sports, martial arts.

7 Expedition To complete the expedition section students need to attend all the training sessions and complete both a practice and assessed expedition.

8 Expedition Training Trainings include: - First Aid - Team work - Navigation skills - How to pack - Country Code/Road Safety - Cooking on a trangia - Tents - Route planning

9 Expedition Dates Practice Expedition Group A: 23 rd – 24 th April 2016 Group B: 7 th – 8 th May 2016 Assessed Expedition Group A: 18 th – 19 th June 2016 Group B: 9 th – 10 th July 2016

10 How do the expeditions work? The main aim of the expedition section is to encourage students to be as independent as possible and to work as a team to solve any problems as they arise.
