2. Here you will find a record of what you have done so far. This student has nothing! Now click on certifications.

3. Every student has been allocated one of six certificates (depending on their reading skill). They all have names (this one is Star Reader)

4. When you have achieved your target see me or send me an e mail and I will print off a certificate for you.

5. Every Monday tutor time I will meet those who have completed a certificate in the library for rewards.

6. Show your certificate to your tutor and tell them how many books you have read – one House Point will be allocated for each book.

7. You will have a Star Reading Test four times a year – you can then see for yourself how the reading is helping you progress. Your parents will have access to information about your progress. This may become part of the reports.

8. This is part of a huge drive to help you all make progress. Miss Watkins and I are determined that no one in our school will fail to achieve their GCSE’s because their ability to read with skill and insight is not good enough.

9. Rewards policy – for Reading Tutors will issue ‘AR house points’ for: 1 house point 85% or above in a quiz 1 house point for moving AR level House points will then lead to an AR competition that recognises and rewards the performance of: Individual – Gold, Silver and Bronze competition. This is ongoing and will immediately recognise success in the completion of the target set. 10. The only way you are going to earn AR house points is to get reading and quizzing! This quiz pass will get you into the library to use the computers to complete your quiz!

13. How to achieve and improve your reading age in order to prepare for the future: 2 X 20 minute tutor periods per week 2 X 20 minute reading slots across the curriculum. Please write these slots in your planner each week in order to come to each lesson prepared to learn! Details to be found on the student bulletin.
