1. WELCOME TO 7 TH GRADE BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT !! Ms. Raymond’s Math Class Please write down something you would like me to know about your child on the white paper on your desk: It can be about math, school in general, their hobbies, personality, family, etc. Your words are very valuable and I look forward to reading them! A little bit about me:  I am new to Frankford School, and I have enjoyed working with truly wonderful staff and students so far!  I have taught mathematics from grades K-5 for three years.  I love being able to help students become more confident in their abilities.  My goal is to help each and every student learn (and enjoy math, too!) to the best of their ability– you are a very important part of that equation, I look forward to working together to achieve this goal!!

2. THE BASIC FACTS OF 7 TH GRADE MATH  Tests: 1 per chapter- 40% Quizzes: 1-2 per chapter- 25% Study guides sent home for quizzes and tests (mandatory for tests) Parent signature will result in 3 extra points onto grade  Homework and classwork: (5 graded CW per marking period)- 15%  Class prep: 10% (textbook, notebook)Class participation: 10%  Homework: assigned regularly, but not on weekends. Homework should not take longer than 30 minutes! I will accept parent notes if you are really struggling together.  Projects: school-wide “career project”, chapter projects announced at near beginning of chapters  Extra credit: many opportunities in class, will be offered outside of class throughout year  Extra help: 7 th period “homebase,” before/ after school visits or formal tutoring  Class/ individual rewards: will be given out as an incentive for students to do their best and work together with their peers to create the best learning environment possible!
