THE WRECK OF COSTA CONCORDIA By Kyle Young

Thesis  The ignorance of man affects everyone. It does not matter whether people/society know or even are around the performer of ignorance and/or act, but that it happens can and will affect people/society. But man can overcome the challenge of nature, by accepting he was wrong and go back to fix what was wronged.  “There is only one good, knowledge, and only one evil, ignorance” – Socrates

An Act of Ignorance  An act of ignorance of a captain(Francesco Schettino) to meet the cruel fate of nature. Such as encountering a rock in the coral reef.  The wreck of the Italian cruise liner, Costa Concordia hit a coral reef. It is considered the modern Titanic. -Emergency helicopter coming to rescue passengers

The Damage  The damage that nature can bring is infinitely more than we can imagine. Anything that we build can be broken and if tested will be destroyed by the cruel mistress known as nature. -The picture is of the damage that the coral reef did too the ship.

The Search  After being capsized/ or in the process of capsizing for about two hours assistance starts to show up. -Rescue teams searching for life boats and life jackets.

Not Giving Up  Even after the primary search, there were still many not accounted for, this made the search hate to go deeper, literally, deeper. Divers went down into the capsized ship to search for well, the dead, or the very lucky. -Diver searching for bodies.

The Rescue  Luckily rescue teams found many of the people and the unaccounted in the next few days. Over twelve more people were found a couple of days after the tragedy. -A life boat full of survivors being lifted by helicopter

Hope  What can we do, when the nature strikes against the ignorance of man? The answer is hope. Hope that we learn from the mistakes of our ancestors and peers. Hope that the world takes the measures to teach the younger generations about these mistakes. Hope that we, ourselves, learn from these mistakes. For if you do not learn from them, who will? - Family staring out at the wreckage, days after the tragedy.
