3 What is Poverty? Poverty is a state in which people lack a certain amount of money. Absolute poverty is a state in which people lack the necessary means for survival. The reason for on going poverty is the culture of poverty.

4 Effects of Poverty In the end it leads to much more stress for poor families Through the culture of poverty many people feel inferior due to the lack of resources. This feeling of inferiority is then passed from generation to generation. SOme of the many effects of poverty are children being sick more often, low birth weight, higher infant mortality rates and in the end

5 Homelessness One of the most common and largely associated with poverty is the homeless. Homelessness is caused by poverty and lack of jobs for those who are under educated.

6 Feminization of Poverty
More single women in poverty today Most women in poverty are also single mothers.

7 Undereducated America
An estimated 50 million americans struggle to make ends meet. This many people growing up in poverty will not have access to higher education. Leading to an undereducated workforce in America.

8 Conclusion In conclusion poverty is a devastating social problem crippling many people who want to live beyond poverty.
