2 What are inhalants? Inhalants are chemicals (gas form) that, when breathed in, decreased the flow of oxygen to the brain.

5 How do inhalants affect the body?
Vapors are absorbed through the lungs Vapors then enter the bloodstream Once in the blood, they travel to the brain and other tissues in the body

6 How do inhalants affect the body?
Inhalants depress the functions of the nervous system Without oxygen, the heart is forced to beat more rapidly to get blood to the brain.

7 How many products can be abused?
There are more than inhalant products that have the potential to be abused.

8 What products could be inhalants?
Glues/adhesives Cleaning products (ammonia) Paint and paint thinner Markers Gasoline and other fuels Hair Sprays White out

9 Some of the effects of inhalants include:
Slurred speech Hallucinations Drowsiness Dizziness Nausea (headaches) Vomiting DEATH

Memory Loss Concentration Problems Blindness Motor Problems Nerve Damage
