5 What inevitably required? Performance parameters unified, Interface for connection unified, –Cryomodule to cryomodule –Cromodule to end box –Cryomodule to peripheral components Size of vacuum vessel, type of flanges/pipes, Mechanical, high-pressure, electrical acceptance criteria, Delivery after/before assembly, cold test?

6 How we may provide? > 1000 cryomodules As my personal impression, –Sharing production with multiple institutions and multiple companies, – Multiple production lines and test facilities inevitably required, assuming the delivery after the cold test, –Capital investment (off-sent) to be rather independent from the concept of “unified design” or “plug-compatible”

7 Understanding and Strategy No design yet satisfy the ILC performance, –No unified design can be selected, How we may reach the necessary design with industrialization experience? –Learn mass production from well established design (with recognizing less performance) –Try to keep more R&D to reach the performance with smaller scale, –Those can be carried out in parallel and complementary around the word, –It is important that both progress is to be shared in world wide scale, –It is also important that the all alternates to be plug- compatible to the base line envelope.

8 Summary As my personal view, we need to: –Have “unified” design parameters and functional interface –Allow “plug-compatible” functions, and components, (based on the best effort for the unified design, ) As alternatively available technology to back-up the base line design componets, as possible alternate production under the condition of no major cost increase and as option with superior performance/cost –It may be useful to minize risks possiby caused by the single design and production, –The well balanced scientific and engineering feed back may be important.
