2 CHILD MORTALITY IN AFRICA.  In the year 2006, for the first time since mortality data have been gathered, annual dates among children under the age of 5 years caught themselves in situations of deaths. In actual fact a child born in a developing country is over 13 times more likely to die within the first 5 years of life than a child born in an industrialized country.

3  The leading causes of childhood deaths.  pneumonia; The inflammatory illness of the lungs.  Diarrhoea : The conditions of having frequent loose or liquid bowel movements  Malaria: It’s a mosquito borne infectious disease.  Measles : Infants younger than one year of age, malnourished children and immunocompromised children are at risk for fatal measles.

4  In south Africa our health department is dedicated to fighting against these diseases killing our nation. We have the following programmes that cater for every child in South Africa which is inexpensive vaccination and subsequently boosters that provide safe life long protection.
