YOUNG PERSONS AUCTION OF RIGHTS

Outcomes Identify basic human rights. Highlight how rights can exist yet be disabled through action/inaction or lack of personal knowledge. Empowering young people to exercise their rights and to enable the rights process for others.

What is this? Who decided what should be in it? Why is this important to us?

YOUNG PERSONS AUCTION OF RIGHTS Imaginary auction of human rights, In groups of 5 you must read through and put each Human Right in order of Preference or Importance Each group will be given £3060 of ‘dosh’ so you can bid for and buy the rights that are coming up for auction. Each group must agree how much they are willing to pay for each Right. You will be asked to look at each Right as it comes up and if your group have decided it is important enough you will have to bid for the Right with the highest bidder winning.

Did you get all the Rights you wanted? Did you decide to change your ‘dosh’ values as the auction took place? Which Rights were valued differently by the groups? Why do you think this may be? If your Rights have been removed. How might this feel.? How does this link to the other modules we have done before?

Outcomes Identify basic human rights. Highlight how rights can exist yet be disabled through action/inaction or lack of personal knowledge. Empowering young people to exercise their rights and to enable the rights process for others.

There is NO EXCUSE Bring About Change
