2 2 The High-level Safety Conference / 2010 issued 48 recommendations including: New Safety Management Annex Support implementation of safety management requirements Integrate safety information from international general aviation Improve ICAO’s capability to integrate safety data and disseminate analysis Create methodologies for safety performance measurement Develop information sharing agreements Develop provisions for the appropriate protection of safety data Establish a framework for consistent and fair use of safety information

3 3 Annex 19 – Safety Management Standardization Annex 19 – Safety Management Enhances safety by consolidating safety management provisions Includes provisions related to Safety Data Collection, Analysis and Exchange –Mandatory and voluntary incident reporting systems –Legal guidance for the protection of safety information –“Non punitive” reporting environment Safety Information Protection Task Force recommendations currently under consideration

5 1.Reduce the number of fatal accidents and fatalities worldwide irrespective of the volume of air traffic. 2.Achieve a significant decrease in accident rates, particularly in regions where these remain high. 3.No single ICAO region shall have an accident rate more than twice the worldwide rate by the end of 2011. 2007 GASP Safety Targets 5
