Inaugural EAS EMM (Oct. 2008, Hanoi ) High Level Seminar (HLS) on ESC Mar. 2010, Jakarta Output: Chair’s Summary with 5 recommendations for promoting ESC in East Asia 2nd EAS EMM (Oct. 2010) Brunei Darussalam ASEAN + 6 (Australia, China, India, Japan, R.O.Korea, & NZ) Follow-up activities With the support of the international development community and the private sector IGES was the Secretariat Inaugural EAS EMM (Oct. 2008, Hanoi )

3 IGES | http://www.iges.or.jp Advisory Group Meeting High Level Seminar on Environmentally Sustainable Cities 3 A High- Level Seminar (HLS) on Environmentally Sustainable Cities (ESC) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia in March 2010. Four Thematic Sessions (Day 1) Cities and Resource Efficiency and 3Rs (Indonesia) Cities and Biodiversity (Singapore) Cities and Adaptation and Sustainable Urban Development (Australia) Low Carbon and Low Polluting Cities (Japan) Under the framework of the East Asia Summit (EAS) Environment Ministers Meeting (EMM), which was inaugurated in Hanoi, Vietnam, in October 2008.
