4 Check In How has your Academy 4 work as a team helped you work toward this goal? In what ways has this work enhanced your understanding of “continuous improvement”? How are you closer to this goal today than at the beginning of the school year?

5 What do you think? Individually jot down your responses to questions similar to those the principals responded to. Share with the group. Are there commonalities? Gaps? Do your responses support and are they supported by your gifted plan? (i.e., Are you doing things the way your plan says you will?) What can you learn from one another?

6 Principals’ Responses Are principal’s perceptions and ideas consistent across the district? Are they consistent with your program plan and what your department is trying to accomplish? Do you share the same goals? What needs do these data reveal? What priorities emerge? What steps will you take?

7 Developing a Communication Plan Individually write out a summary of what and how you communicate important information. – What – When – With whom Chart each category.

8 Developing a Communication Plan Chart each category. Where is there consistency? Where are there gaps? What’s missing?

9 Developing a Communication Plan Discuss… Why is communication important in providing quality comprehensive gifted and talented programming and services? What communication needs do principals’ comments reveal? What communication needs do you perceive? What do you want to be different as a result of your communication?

12 Reflect As a team reflect on this year’s Academy experience. What were your major accomplishments? How is programming better? Individually reflect on your contributions to the team’s efforts. How is the implementation of the team plan working for you in your building(s)?
