2 As you enter, please take a moment to write your initials in one of the four cells on the chart, responding to the prompt: To what degree has the current evaluation system supported you in improving practice in your district? 1= Poorly supported 2=Slightly supported 3=Fairly supported 4= Completely supported OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1

3  Within a Group of 4  In your small group, determine one question you have in common about the new Teacher and Principal Evaluation systems.  Whole Group  “Whip” around the room, getting each person’s name and position.  Final person relates the common question their team members have. 5 Select two ‘sticky notes’. On one, write a hope you have for the OESD TPEP RIG project. On the other, write a concern you have for the OESD TPEP RIG project. Share each with your small group, then choose two per team to place on the poster. Discuss as large group. What do you notice? OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1

6 District team members will:  Understand the importance of norms and communication plans for functioning as a District and regional team.  Understand the purpose of the TPEP project and the RIG work.  Deepen individual and system awareness of the components of Washington State’s revised evaluation criteria for teachers and principals. 7  Norms  Read Garmston’s Norms of collaboration and note what you’d add or delete. Share with whole group. Come to agreement on norms. OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1

8  TPEP Work  Protocol  3 - 5 minutes to read green documents, take notes  1 minute each to comment  1 – 2 questions per small group  Record your questions on posted chart OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1

9  To increase your familiarity with the requirements of the new State evaluation system:  Waiver Background (blue section)  Waiver Report Jigsaw (Waiver behind pink section)  Protocol  Be ready to share. OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1

Section IV a – e, pps. 192 – 200; 4. Section IV f – h, pps. 200-206; 5. Section V, pps. 206 - 210  Move to numbered chart and respond to prompts 15 minutes  Report out 15 minutes OESD 114 RIG 2 - Session 1
