2 Local Churches Were Admonished to Pray Together The church at Rome (15:30) The church at Ephesus (6:18) The church at Philippi (4:6) The church at Colossae (4:2) The church at Thessalonica (5:17)

3 The Church That Prays Together Stays Together The Jerusalem church faced persecution from without (Acts 4, 7-8, 12) The Jerusalem church faced problems from within (Acts 5-6) Yet, the Jerusalem church remained unified through prayer (4:23-31; 6:4-6; 12:5,12)

4 When the Church Prays Together There is unity (4:23-24) – prayer is a uniting force (Jas. 5:16) There is an emphasis on scripture (4:25-26) – praying with scripture shows we are full of God’s word (Psa. 119:13, 43)

5 When the Church Prays Together There is belief in God’s greatness (4:24,28,30) – prayer shows God’s praise, purpose and power (Acts 2:1-4; 2:23) There is belief in the Lord’s anointed, the Servant Jesus (4:27,30) – prayer shows we have been with Jesus ( Acts 4:13)

6 When the Church Prays Together There is a need for God’s help (4:29) - prayer for boldness to face the world (Eph. 6:18-19) There is an answer to prayer (4:31) – prayers go up to God like incense (Rev. 5:8; 8:3-4)
