4 Maximum Award $250,000 per year with a total budget limit of $1,250,000 (up to 60 months, 5 years). o OSEP will reject any application that proposes a budget exceeding the maximum award for a single budget period of 12 months. 4

5 Page Limits and Formatting The application narrative has a 50 page limit. NOTE: OSEP will reject any application that exceed this limit. A "page" is 8.5" x 11" (on one side only) with 1” margins at the top, bottom, and both sides. Double-space (no more than three lines per vertical inch) all text in the Application Narrative, including titles, headings, footnotes, quotations, reference citations, and captions, as well as all text in charts, tables, figures, graphs, and screen shots. 5

6 Page Limits and Formatting Use a font that is 12 point or larger. Use one of the following fonts: o Times New Roman, o Courier, o Courier New, or o Arial. Any other font will not be accepted. 6

9 Purpose The purpose of Personnel Preparation in Special Education, Early Intervention, and Related Services program is to: o help address state-identified needs for personnel preparation in special education, related services, early intervention, and regular education to work with children, including infants and toddlers, with disabilities; and o ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research and experience, to be successful in serving those children. 9

13 Application, Programmatic and Administrative Requirements See pages A-9 through A-24 of the application package, in particular… o Projects funded under this priority must budget annually for a three-day Project Directors’ meeting in Washington, D.C. o Ensure that all scholars recruited into the program will graduate by the end of the grant’s project period. 13

14 Application, Programmatic and Administrative Requirements o Ensure that 65% of the requested budget per year will be used for scholar support. o Ensure that the institution will not require scholars to work as a condition of receiving financial support. 14
