Foundational Truths About Worship: 1. Worship is rooted in the Character and in the Permanence of God. When we worship, we are foremost celebrating God’s strong love, a love that does not threaten to lessen with each failure on our part, but will endure throughout eternity because God has promised Himself to us.

2. Worship is always a response to God’s initiative and, at the same time, is meant to be an interaction. Worship is not only what I can give to God or what He gives to me: It’s God receiving what He’s worthy to receive and us receiving more of God.

3. Worship is letting our whole lives point to the supremacy and worth of God. How we make decisions, how we use our gifts and skills, how we relate to others, how we make choices show how much we depend on God daily, and our understanding of the heart of worship.

Lesson 5: PLANTING OF PRAISE Purpose: To increase our desire for God’s righteousness in our lives because righteousness causes us to praise God more. Our praise and worship are not meant to be limited to us, contained within the walls of our worshiping space. Instead, God wants our praise to affect others.

Lesson 6: ALL TO JESUS Purpose: To see that in worship, what matters to Jesus is the amount of ourselves and of our trust given, our attitude toward others and our honesty toward God. Nothing escapes the notice of Jesus. He sees all our attempts to evade or trick Him and our attempts to honor and trust Him.

Lesson 7: LIVING WORSHIP Purpose: To accept Paul’s (and God’s) invitation to allow our whole lives to be worship so that we might know the heart and mind of God and be all we were meant to be. God is reaching out to us every day, encouraging us to entrust ourselves to Him, giving up what we love to do, the passions and the pursuits that we enjoy, sacrificing ourselves to Him and becoming who we were intended to be.

Lesson 8: OUR LONGING FULFILLED Purpose: To embrace the vision we’ve been given in Revelation in order to keep our worship meaningful and alive. A new renovated world awaits us, a world where all our longings are fulfilled in God. New heaven, new Earth, no more tears, death, pain, no more evil, new Jerusalem.
