4 ICTC - Celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2014 Scope of Engagement (1) 1.To identify, review, revise, and provide guidance in the usage of preferred practices for monitoring and evaluation of the activities of National Trachoma Programs and their progress towards elimination based on the needs defined by endemic countries 2.To provide requested advice on the development and revision of the WHO Trachoma Elimination Monitoring Form (TEMF)

5 ICTC - Celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2014 Scope of Engagement (2) 3.To ensure ICTC database is up-to-date, interpret data, charting against global objectives and milestones, and disseminate to Coalition 4.To review global trachoma indicators and milestones, promoting harmonization in the global community 5.To liaise with the Technical WGs: key indicators and milestones, review national programs’ progress toward global trachoma elimination goals, review of best practices, etc

6 ICTC - Celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2014 Priorities for action and timeline 1.Develop minimum M&E indicators for SAFE used by national trachoma programmes (May 2014 – expand upon Integrated NTD Database indicators as needed) 2.Pilot indicators in The Trust and DFID SAFE countries, refine (ongoing) 3.Review and/or draft data collection tools for SAFE strategy (collection period starting now) 4.Create data collection tool repository: WHO Sunflower? 5.Update recommendations to the Integrated NTD Database and TEMF based on evolving guidelines (ongoing)

7 ICTC - Celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2014 Activities Undertaken So Far by the Working Group Review and finalization of WHO Integrated NTD Database trachoma indicators Engagement of a graduate student to help with collating data collection tools being used in countries to jumpstart WG task

8 ICTC - Celebrating our ten year anniversary in 2014 Anticipated Challenges Coordination/consistency across all ICTC data collection initiatives Getting countries the information (best practices/tools in MIE) they need in time in a way that will be useful Shifting of indicators being collected Availability of working group members
