4 The course (subject to change!) Unit 1: Assessed by written examination (2hr 15 min) Two compulsory structured questions and data response: Changing landscapes Coastal landscapes Two compulsory structured questions and data response: Changing places/rebranding places

5 Unit 2: Assessed by written examination (2hr 15 min) Two compulsory structured questions and data response: Global systems Water and carbon cycles Two compulsory structured questions and data response: Global governance and challenge Processes and patterns of global migration Global governance of the Earth’s oceans

6 Unit 3: Assessed by written examination (2 hours) One compulsory extended response question: Tectonic hazards Contemporary theory in Geography: Two essay questions chosen from the themes below: Ecosystems Economic growth and challenge: India or China Energy challenges and dilemmas Weather and climate Development in an African context

7 Unit 4: Non-examined assessment (written report 3000-4000 words) An investigation report which will be internally assessed and externally moderated.

8 Fieldwork Fieldwork is a compulsory requirement for A Level Geography. These requirements include at least two days fieldwork for AS level students, and four days (residential) for A Level students.
